1 Introduction & Definitions

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Researcher," "User," or "you") and Shannon AI Research ("Shannon AI," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of our AI red team research platform, uncensored AI models, and related services.

Key Definitions:

• "Services" - Shannon AI's uncensored AI models, APIs, documentation, and research tools
• "Uncensored AI Consequent" - Outputs generated by constraints-relaxed models for research purposes
• "AI Red Team" - Authorized security testing of AI systems for vulnerability research
• "AI Guardrail Importance" - Research into the necessity and design of AI safety mechanisms

2 Eligibility & Access Requirements

Access to Shannon AI services is restricted to qualified researchers who meet the following criteria:

1. Affiliation with an accredited academic institution, research organization, or approved enterprise
2. Demonstrated expertise in AI safety, security research, or related fields
3. Completion of our verification process and ethics acknowledgment
4. Agreement to responsible use and disclosure policies
5. Minimum age of 18 years

3 Permitted Uses

Shannon AI services may ONLY be used for:

• Academic research on AI safety, alignment, and guardrail design
• Authorized AI red team testing with proper institutional approval
• Development and evaluation of AI safety mechanisms
• Publication of responsible findings that advance AI guardrail importance
• Educational purposes within approved institutional contexts
• Vulnerability assessment of AI systems with appropriate authorization

4 Prohibited Uses

The following uses are STRICTLY PROHIBITED and will result in immediate termination:

• Generating content to harm, harass, or threaten individuals
• Creating malware, weapons instructions, or dangerous materials
• Producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any illegal content
• Deploying uncensored outputs in production systems
• Commercial use without explicit written authorization
• Sharing access credentials with unauthorized parties
• Circumventing usage monitoring or logging systems
• Using outputs to train competing AI systems without permission
• Generating misinformation intended for public distribution
• Any use that violates applicable laws or regulations

5 Intellectual Property

Shannon AI Property

All Shannon AI models, training methodologies, documentation, and platform technology remain the exclusive property of Shannon AI. Your research access grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for approved research purposes only.

Research Outputs

You retain ownership of original research findings and publications derived from Shannon AI services, subject to:

• Proper attribution to Shannon AI in all publications
• Compliance with our responsible disclosure policy
• Pre-publication review for sensitive security findings (30-day window)

6 Data & Privacy

Your use of Shannon AI services is subject to our Privacy Policy. Key points:

• Query logs are retained for safety monitoring and may be reviewed
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• You consent to usage monitoring for compliance verification
• Research outputs may be analyzed to improve AI safety measures

7 Disclaimers & Limitations

AS-IS Provision

Shannon AI services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shannon AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data or research materials
• Reputational harm from misuse of outputs
• Third-party claims arising from your research
• Service interruptions or unavailability

8 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Shannon AI, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your misuse of Shannon AI services
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your research outputs and publications

9 Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for:

• Violation of these Terms or Responsible Use Policy
• Suspicious or anomalous usage patterns
• Failure to maintain eligibility requirements
• At our sole discretion with 30 days notice (without cause)

Upon termination, you must cease all use of Shannon AI services and delete any cached model outputs.

10 Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in San Francisco, CA, under AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules.

You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits against Shannon AI.

11 Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance.
